Team Worth 10U rolled through the Drakes Creek Classic last weekend outscoring their opponents by 56-7 on the way to a 6-0 record and the championship. After knocking off the Mt. Juliet Diamonds, Smyrna Bulldogs, and Hendersonville Wildfire by scores of 13-0, 10-0, and 14-0 in pool play, Worth continued to make a lot of noise with their bats in the championship round. The 10U team received a first round bye before eliminating Crieve Hall 9-3. They then faced the Xtreme Blast, who has proven to be a worthy opponent this spring, and advanced to the finals with a 4-1 win. The squad then captured their 5th tournament championship of the year with a 6-3 victory over the Bowling Green Storm.

In the 12U bracket both Worth 11U teams played outstanding ball in pool play in the 18 team tournament, earning the 1st and 2nd seeds in their respective pools. Worth Extreme Heat pitchers dabbled with a pair of perfect games while going undefeated in pool play. After taking a perfect game through 5 innings, Worth beat the Slammers 6-2 in their opening game, and then knocked off the Tennessee Cyclones 9-2. In a late night game against the Clarksville Heat, Caralisa Connell struck out 9 and faced the minimum number of batters in a 8-0 no hitter. Worth Delta Force went 2-1 in pool play with solid wins over the Lady Warriors and Knockouts before dropping a close game with the Jackson Spirits in the final inning

. In the elimination round, both 11U teams took opening round wins, Extreme Heat by a 9-0 score over the Knockouts and Delta Force in an 12-3 victory over the Smyrna Bulldogs. Unfortunately, the two teams were paired against each other in the second round, and Extreme Heat was able to advance. In semifinal play, Extreme Heat scored 2 runs early and maintained a 2-1 lead until late in the game against the Diamonds. In the final frame, the Diamond bats got hot to load the bases, and they pushed the go ahead runs across the plate on a foul ball to eliminate the young squad.

Team Worth 10U and Worth Extreme Heat 11U will return to action next weekend at the Crusaders Classic with the Extreme Heat playing in the 14U division. Worth Delta Force will take the weekend off before returning to action in Gallatin on the 11th. Congratulations to all three teams for outstanding weekends.
