MSABA SIGNINGS REACH 58

As of August 5, 2006, a total of 58 players from seven Mid-State teams have signed grants-in aid for the 2006-07 school year or signed professionally after the MLB draft.

14 players signed with Division 1 schools, one signed Division 2, 19 signed with NAIA schools, 23 signed with Junior Colleges and one signed with the Minnesota Twins.

Austin Peay signed four to lead the NCAA Division 1 teams, followed by Lipscomb and Vanderbilt with two each. Belmont, Memphis, UT-Martin, St. Louis, Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky each inked one Mid-State senior. Tusculum signed the lone D2 player.

Martin Methodist and Cumberland each signed four to lead the NAIA schools, followed by Freed-Hardeman with three, Lee and Lambuth with two, Bethel, Crichton, Union and Trevecca Nazarene with one each.

Of the 19 JUCO signees, eleven went to Vol State, six to Columbia State, three to Cleveland State and one each to Walters Stare, Jackson State and Alabama Southern.
